Candidate Guidelines

We are always looking for outstanding players to join Clan Ta Veren. We seek players that are dedicated, skilled, self-motivated, and most importantly enjoy playing Everquest at the highest level.

This is a raiding guild. Our scheduled raids will typically last from 5:00 pm PST until 10:00 pm PST from Monday through Thursday and from 4:00 pm PST until 10:00 pm PST on Sunday. Friday and Saturday are days off so that members can have time to themselves as well as improve their characters in other ways. All members and applicants online during raid time are expected to attend. Whenever the guild is not raiding, you will see us working on various things to better ourselves as well as the guild such as gaining AA, completing quests, exploring new areas, obtaining spells, or working on trade skills. Our members play this game to be the best they can be, applicants are expected to do the same.

Uncle Zam wants you!

The Clan currently has openings for all classes. To qualify, you need to love raiding and be interested in progression first. A minimum of 1500 AA is required along with a good background in raiding. SoF to UF level gear and/or more AA are a plus but not required.

Send a in-game tell to Zamboni, Narye, Ladas, Notthe or e-mail us in game if you'd like to talk more about us, or, submit an application online and come play with the best!

The main attribute we look for in applicants is a positive and proactive attitude. Ideal applicants will always work to improve themselves, strive to make a positive impact in the guild, and understand that one's enjoyment of the game is ultimately in their own hands. A potential applicant should possess an excellent understanding of their class and enjoy playing it both inside and outside of a raid environment.

Additionally, at the level we play you will die. A lot. If you're the type of player that dislikes dying we suggest you look elsewhere. A qualified applicant is required to accept countless deaths in order to beat the learning curve of new encounters. If you feel you can stick to a challenge until it's defeated this is the guild for you.

If the above describes you, your character is level 85, and you meet the following requirements, then this might be the guild for you. During the application period we require apps to maintain a 66% raid attendance, so that we can properly evaluate and mentor you.

Playtime:
Unlike most high end guilds we don't have a required raid attendance. We recognize that people have lives outside of EverQuest and that real life always needs to come first. However, while we are understanding of real life commitments, the guild cannot benefit from a player who isn't online enough to raid consistently or to earn enough DKP to purchase the gear needed to survive on raids. As such, we consider a person's playtime heavily when deciding if a player would or wouldn't make a good addition to the guild.

Utility Items & Abilities:
All members and applicants are expected and required to always have access to some minor utility effects. These can be in the form of AA's, worn items, potions, or right click items; the method you use in order to gain access to each ability doesn't matter so long as it's available when needed. If you use charged items such as a Gnomish Vanishing Device you will also be expected to carry a toolbox and mana batteries in order to recharge them. The effects we expect people to have are:

  • Enduring Breath
  • Shrink
  • Gate
  • Healing potions
  • Two indoor right click instant cast buff items
  • Invisibility
  • Invisibility vs Undead
  • Levitate
  • See Invisible
The following items are not required however they are a plus:
  • Four indoor right click instant cast buff items
  • Form of Endurance # click. A Form of Defense # click is also acceptable for tanks.

Flags & Faction:
In order to raid with us certain flags are required so that you can zone in. We also consider certain flags, faction, and keys as a bonus if the applicant already possesses them prior to applying. These are:

Recruitment Process:
If you are interested in joining us, get to know some of our members in game and fill out the Online Application. Applications will be considered as they are received.

If your application is accepted, you will be notified and your trial period will begin. During this period you will be invited (and expected) to raid with us. We will be making efforts to periodically schedule raids that aren't as heavily restricted in flags or keys as our normal events. The purpose of this is to flag our applicants as well as to raid as much with you as possible. During this time your application will be posted to the Members Only area of our forums where guild members will make comments about your abilities and their experiences with you.

This trial period typically lasts 4 to 6 weeks, depending how much time we feel is needed to evaluate your potential to join the team. During your application period, you'll be assigned a mentor (typically a member of your class). Your mentor will help acclimate you to CtV culture, keep you informed about raid strategies and let you know how your application is going. CtV is not a "sink or swim" environment - we want to give all of our applicants a fair chance to grow.

Class Requirements:
Many abilities are required in order to maximize effectiveness during raids. The class requirements listed here are the ones we strongly recommend a potential applicant possess. There are more abilities than these that are extremely useful for raiding. We also expect any applicant or member to be able to fill any role which their class can support. If you wish to know more about your class's role on our raids or would like some suggestions for future AA purchases, your best bet is to contact (via PM or an in-game tell) a member of your class who's in the guild - very few of us bite (especially if you start by offering us cookies or pie) and we're happy to help you out.

Class Requirements:

All characters must have Innate Run Speed, Mystical Attuning, Natural Durability, Planar Power, General Sturdiness, Discordant Defiance, Combat Agility and Combat Stability.

Priests must have Radiant Cure, Quickened Curing, Spell Casting Mastery, Mass Group Buff, Spell Casting Reinforcement Mastery, Healing Gift, Abundant Healing, Fundament: Third Spire, Mnemonic Retention and Spell Casting Subtlety

Melee/Hybrids must have Physical Enhancement, Weapon Affinity, Veteran's Wrath.

Casters must have Spell Casting Mastery, Spell Casting Fury Mastery, Mnemonic Retention and Spell Casting Subtlety (We don't require Necromancers to have Subtlety).

The listed AA should be max level for the class.
